The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is recruiting for 25,487 vacancies in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), SSF, and Assam Rifles. This recruitment is a massive opportunity for 10th-pass aspirants to join the nation’s defense services.

 

1. Key Recruitment Dates 2026

• Notification Released: December 1, 2025

   

• Admit Card Released: April 25, 2026

   

• CBT Exam Window: April 27, 2026 – May 30, 2026

   

• PET/PST Dates: Expected July – August 2026

• Medical & DV: Expected September 2026 onwards

2. Force-Wise Vacancy Details

A total of 25,487 posts are available, with 23,467 for males and 2,020 for females. The CISF has the highest allocation this year.

3. Physical Standards & Efficiency (PST/PET)

To qualify, candidates must pass the written exam and meet strict physical criteria. Notably, the height requirement is a major elimination point.

 

Physical Standard Test (PST):

• Height (Male): 170 cm (General/OBC/SC) | 162.5 cm (ST)

   

• Height (Female): 157 cm (General/OBC/SC) | 150 cm (ST)

   

• Chest (Male Only): 80 cm unexpanded with a minimum 5 cm expansion.

   

Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

• Male: 5 km run in 24 minutes.

   

• Female: 1.6 km run in 8.5 minutes.

   

4. Salary & Benefits

Selected candidates are placed in Pay Level-3 under the 7th Pay Commission.

 

• Basic Pay: ₹21,700 – ₹69,100

   

• Gross Salary: Approximately ₹32,000 – ₹41,000 (depending on city of posting).

   

• Allowances: Includes DA (approx. 50%), HRA, Transport Allowance, and Ration Money.
